Sunwick (formerly Phasty) Privacy Policy
Sunwick (formerly Phasty) Last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information the Sunwick iPhone app ("Sunwick", "the app") and its widgets, Live Activities and Controls collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Sunwick is published by DansUGC LLC, New York, New York, United States ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here.
1. The short version
- No sign-up. You don't create an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
- Your fasting log stays on your iPhone. Fasts, history, weights, moods, meals and meal thumbnails are stored on your device. We don't sync them to a cloud.
- We use a few service providers to understand how the app is used, measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram, deliver notifications and manage subscriptions: Mixpanel, Meta, OneSignal and RevenueCat. Your health answers, weights, moods and meal details aren't shared with them. Our analytics provider sees your fasting activity and three setup answers. Meta sees only that the app was opened, that you finished setup, started your first fast and saw the subscription screen, plus subscription events (see §4).
- Meal photos are optional. If you use a meal photo estimate, the photo goes through our server (run by Supabase in the EU) to Google's Gemini service, which estimates what's in it. We don't store your photos. We use Google's paid service, under which your photos aren't used to train Google's models.
- No ads in the app, and we don't sell your data for money.
- Not for under-18s.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following stays on your iPhone (in the app's storage and an App Group container shared with Sunwick's widgets and Live Activities). We can't see it:
- your fasts (start and end times, plan, goal), streaks, freezes and badges;
- the answers you give during setup (age, sex, height, weight, goal, health conditions, your eating times) as saved in your profile;
- weight and mood entries;
- your buddy's name and accessory, your settings and reminders;
- the eating window log: meals, foods, nutrition values, protein goal, saved meals and meal thumbnails (small 512-pixel copies of your photos).
You can export this data as a CSV file (You › Export as CSV) and delete all of it (You › Delete all data). Deleting the app also deletes it. Sunwick doesn't read or write Apple Health.
3. Information that leaves your device
| What | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| App events (for example "started a fast", "opened an article", "viewed the subscription screen"), app version, device model, OS, language, time zone, IP address (from which an approximate city, region and country are inferred) | Mixpanel | Product analytics (§4) |
| Your fasting activity and three setup answers, as listed in §4 | Mixpanel only | Product analytics (§4) |
| App opened, setup finished, first fast started, subscription screen shown (no other details); device and OS information, IP address, Meta's app-specific ID | Meta (Meta SDK) | Measuring which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to installs (§4) |
| Identifiers: an app-specific ID created by each service, the identifier for vendor (IDFV); the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt; the push notification token | Mixpanel, Meta, OneSignal, RevenueCat | Connect events from the same install; deliver notifications; measure our ads |
| Purchase and subscription status (product, price, currency, trial, renewal) | RevenueCat; Mixpanel; Meta (sent by RevenueCat) | Unlock Sunwick Plus, restore purchases, measure revenue from our ads |
| Apple's AdServices attribution token | RevenueCat (via Apple) | Measure Apple Search Ads |
| Push token, notification opens and session counts | OneSignal | Send and measure push notifications |
| Only when you use the eating window log's photo features: an anonymous app ID created for your install, and a record of each photo estimate (type, time, result status, model used, response time, whether you have Plus; never the photo, your note or what you ate) | Supabase (our server, EU) | Run the meal photo service and enforce the free weekly limit (§5) |
| Meal and nutrition-label photos, plus the optional note or correction you type | Supabase (passed through, not stored), then Google (Gemini API) | Estimate the foods and nutrition in the photo, or read the label (§5) |
| A barcode number or the words you search for | Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) | Look up a product's published nutrition values |
Apple processes your payment. We never see your card details or Apple Account.
4. What we share with analytics and advertising partners
What we don't share. None of the following is sent to Mixpanel, Meta, OneSignal, RevenueCat or any advertising network: - your answers about your sex, age, height, current and target weight and health conditions (for example diabetes, heart or blood-pressure problems, eating disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medication, recent surgery); - the weights and moods you log; - how long each fast lasted and which stage it reached; - your meal times; - what you eat (foods, nutrition values, meal photos and notes).
Analytics only records that you answered a setup question or logged a weight or mood, not the answer or the value. Meal photos you choose to analyse go to Google only to produce the estimate (§5).
What Mixpanel receives (product analytics). Mixpanel, our analytics service provider, receives the app events in §3 with the time each happens, linked to the app's ID for your install. Some of them relate to your fasting: - when you start and end a fast, the plan length you pick (for example 16 hours), the planned start of your first fast, whether a fast reached its goal, streak milestones, and whether you ended a fast from the craving screen; - your answers to three setup questions: your main goal (for example "lose weight" or "steady energy & blood sugar"), your biggest worry about fasting, and how much fasting you've done before.
We use this only to understand which plans and features help people and to improve the app. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and it isn't passed to Meta or other ad networks. We treat it as health information (§10).
What Meta receives (ad measurement). Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (EEA/UK users) or Meta Platforms, Inc. (everyone else) helps us measure which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to installs and subscriptions. - From the app (Meta SDK). That the app was opened, and three moments, each sent once and with no other details: you finished the setup questions, you started your first fast, and the subscription screen was shown. With these come device and OS information, the IP address, an app-specific ID created by Meta, and the IDFA only if you allow tracking. The SDK is set not to log anything automatically and not to send screen names. - From RevenueCat (server to server). When you start a free trial, subscribe or renew: the event, price and currency, matched using the identifiers above. RevenueCat sends these subscription events through Meta's App Events API only when your App Tracking Transparency status is authorized. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", RevenueCat does not send these iOS subscription events through this integration. - What Meta never gets. No setup answers, health information, logs, fasting details or meal data.
You can also skip the setup questions entirely ("Just start a 16h fast").
5. Meal photo estimates (optional)
The eating window log is off until you turn it on, and meal photo estimates ask for your consent the first time.
- What is sent. Only the photo you choose and any note or correction you add. Before upload, the photo is redrawn at no more than 1,024 pixels on its longest side, which removes location and other metadata. Nutrition-label photos are handled the same way.
- How it travels. From your iPhone to our server function, run by Supabase in the EU (Ireland). From there it goes to Google's Gemini API, and the estimate comes back to your phone. Our server doesn't save the photo, the note or the result, and doesn't write them to its logs. Google receives no ID that identifies you or your device.
- Google's handling. We use Google's paid service, under which Google doesn't use your photos, notes or the results to train or improve its models. Under its terms (Gemini API Additional Terms of Service), Google keeps requests and responses for up to 55 days, only to detect abuse and for legal requirements, and then deletes them.
- Your anonymous app ID. To run the service and keep the free limit fair (3 photo estimates a week, more with Plus), the app creates an anonymous ID for your install on our server the first time you use the eating window log. No email or name is involved. For each estimate the server records the type (meal photo, label or correction), the time, whether it worked, the model used, the response time and whether you have Plus. It doesn't record the photo or what you ate. The anonymous ID is also stored with RevenueCat so the server can confirm a Plus subscription. Records are deleted after 90 days.
- What we keep. On your iPhone: the result and a small thumbnail. On our server: only the records described above.
- It's an estimate. It can miss oil, sauces and hidden layers, so you check and edit it before it's saved. It isn't medical or nutritional advice.
- Turning it off. You › Eating window log lets you switch off photo estimates (barcode and typing keep working) or the whole log. Barcode and text searches go to Open Food Facts, never to Google or our server.
6. Tracking and your choices
- App Tracking Transparency. Sunwick asks whether it may track you. The prompt appears after you have seen your plan, or on a later app open, never at first launch. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA isn't shared and Meta doesn't use your activity in Sunwick together with other companies' apps and websites for advertising, beyond the limited, aggregated measurement Apple allows. You can change this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Notifications. Sunwick's reminders are about your own fasts. We don't send marketing notifications. Turn them off in You › Notifications or in iOS Settings.
- Analytics. Deleting the app stops all collection. To ask us to delete what the services hold for your install, see §8.
- Camera. Used only when you choose to scan a meal, barcode or label. You can revoke access in iOS Settings.
7. Why we use your information (legal bases for EEA/UK users)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running the app, notifications you turned on, subscriptions and restores | Performance of our contract with you |
| Meal photo estimates, including the anonymous app ID and the estimate records (§5) | Your consent (the one-time consent screen); you can withdraw it by turning photo estimates off |
| Fasting activity and goal answers in product analytics (§4) | Your consent, where required by applicable law |
| Product analytics and fixing problems | Our legitimate interest in improving Sunwick |
| Ad measurement with Meta using the IDFA | Your consent through the iOS tracking prompt |
| Ad measurement with Meta without the IDFA (app opens and the three moments in §4) | Your consent where required by applicable law; otherwise, our legitimate interest in measuring our advertising |
| Legal and tax obligations for purchases | Legal obligation |
8. How long we keep it, and deleting it
- On your device: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Mixpanel, OneSignal: for the retention period configured in each service, then deleted or aggregated. You can contact us to request information about retention for your records or to request deletion.
- Meta: under Meta's own retention rules for app events and App Events API data.
- RevenueCat: for as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet tax and accounting rules.
- Supabase (our server): estimate records for 90 days; the anonymous app ID until you ask us to delete it. Photos, notes and results are never stored.
- Google (meal photos): up to 55 days in Google's abuse-monitoring logs, under its terms; not stored by us.
To delete data held by these services, email dan@dansugcmodels.com with the subject "Delete my data". Because there's no account, include your subscription receipt, if you have one, so we can help locate the relevant records. Do not send payment-card details. We may need additional information to identify records associated with an anonymous install. We'll confirm within 30 days. You › Delete all data also removes the anonymous meal-service ID from your iPhone, so a new one is created next time. Deleting your data doesn't cancel a subscription; cancel in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.
9. Who we share it with
Only the service providers in §3, each bound by its own terms to process data for us: - Mixpanel, Inc. (USA): product analytics. - Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. / Meta Platforms, Inc. (Ireland/USA): measurement of our Facebook and Instagram ads (Meta SDK and App Events API). - RevenueCat, Inc. (USA): subscriptions; it also sends subscription events to Meta for us. - OneSignal, Inc. (USA): notifications. - Supabase, Inc. (USA; our server runs in the EU, Ireland): our meal photo service and its records. - Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd. (Gemini API): meal photo estimates, through our server. - Open Food Facts (France): receives only barcodes and search words.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a buyer if Sunwick is sold, under this policy.
We don't sell personal information for money. Under some US state laws, sharing identifiers, app events and subscription events with Meta for ad measurement may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out by choosing "Ask App Not to Track" or by emailing us.
International transfers. These providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where EEA/UK data is transferred, they rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK addendum.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, Nevada), you may have these rights: - to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information; - to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent at any time; - to opt out of targeted advertising and "sharing"; - not to be treated differently for using these rights.
Most of your data is on your device, where you can export (CSV) or delete it yourself. For anything held by the services in §3, email dan@dansugcmodels.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada and similar laws). Your setup answers about your body and health conditions, weights, moods and meal log stay on your device (§2). The consumer health data that leaves your device is: - your fasting activity and three goal answers, sent to Mixpanel (§4); - the meal photos and notes you choose to analyse, and the estimates made from them, sent through our server (Supabase) to Google (§5).
We use it to provide and improve the app. The sources are you and your device. We share it only with those processors, never with Meta, other advertising networks or data brokers, and we don't sell it. You can withdraw consent, request access or deletion, and learn which third parties received it, by emailing dan@dansugcmodels.com.
11. Children
Sunwick is for adults. It isn't intended for anyone under 18, and the app blocks fasting plans for anyone who enters an age under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). If you believe a child has used Sunwick, email us and we'll delete what we can find.
12. Security
Data sent by the app travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS, and the anonymous meal-service sign-in is kept in the iOS Keychain on this device only. Our meal photo service accepts only signed requests from the app, checks Plus subscriptions on the server, and limits how often it can be used. No method is perfectly secure, but we limit what leaves your phone.
13. Changes
We'll update this page when the app's data practices change and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or in the App Store release notes.
